Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. Check in hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight
stay at Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi
Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi:
OLD DELHI - A sight-seeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting
the Raj Ghat - the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated; Jama
Masjid - the largest mosque in India .
NEW
DELHI - An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi would include
a visit to the Humayun's Tomb, the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial
avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, the
President's Residence and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic
Enclave. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 03: Delhi - Agra
After breakfast drive to Agra enroute visiting Mughal Fort of Sikandra.
On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at Agra.
Day 04: Agra
Morning after breakfast city sightseeing tour visiting the world famous
Taj Mahal, built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in 1630 for his Queen
Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Later visit the Agra Fort
containing the pearl mosque and the hall of public and private audience.
Overnight stay at Agra.
Day 05: Agra - Jaipur
Morning, after breakfast drive to Jaipur. Enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri-a
perfectly preserved red sandstone "ghost town" which was the
estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569 and deserted
when its water supply failed. Arrive Jaipur and check-in at hotel. Evening
at leisure. Overnight stay at Jaipur.
Day 06: Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride ascent to the fort.
AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort
palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed
by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner
paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it's
ultimate expression.
Continue sight-seeing.
CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani
architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in
the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and
the City Palace Museum.
JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of
the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the
country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments
is still in use.
HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace of Winds"
is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone
plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies.
The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh,
the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women. Overnight stay
at Jaipur.
Day 07: Jaipur - Bundi
After breakfast drive to Bundi & transfer to hotel. Later visit Taragarh
Fort built in 1354 A.D., Bundi Palace, Chhattar Mahal, Ratan Daulat, Chitrashala,
Nawal Sagar lake, Raniji - ki - Baori (Step well), Sukh Mahal, Phool Sagar,
and eighty four pillared cenotaph. Evening free to relax. Overnight stay
at Bundi.
Day 08: Bundi
After breakfast take an excursion tour to nearby tribal villages of Bundi,
and visit Jait Sagar lake, and Rameshwaram cave, evening free to relax
at the hotel. Overnight stay at Bundi.
Day 09: Bundi - Bijaipur
After breakfast drive to Bijaipur, enroute visiting the fort of Bijolia
in Bijlai, on arrival transfer to hotel. Later jeep or horse safari to
Menal water falls and tribal villages of Bijaipur. Overnight stay at Bijaipur.
Day
10: Bijaipur - Chittaurgarh
After breakfast drive to Chittaurgarh & transfer to hotel. Later visit
Chittaurgarh Fort (one of the finest Fort of Asia ), evening at leisure.
Night stay at Chittaurgarh.
Day 11: Chittaurgarh - Deogarh
After breakfast drive to Deogarh, on arrival transfer to hotel. Enjoy
the serenity and tranquility of Deogarh Mahal built in 17th Century in
the country side of Rajsamand, visit Rajsamand lake known for its migratory
birds. Night stay in Deogarh.
Day 12: Deogarh - Udaipur
Morning drive to Udaipur, on arrival transfer to hotel. Later visit city
tour of Udaipur - The city is built in 1559 A.D. by Maharaja Udai Singh
and has been described as the most romantic spot on the continent of India
by Col. James Todd. Visit the City Palace museum, the Jagdish temple,
Sahelion Ki Bari ( Queen's resort for their friends) Bhartiya Lok Kala
Mandir ( Folk art museum) and the Pratap Memorial. Overnight stay at Udaipur.
Day 13: Udaipur - Ghanerao
After breakfast drive to Ghanerao, enroute visit the 15th century temple
of Ranakpur, on arrival transfer to Ghanerao Royal castle, built of red
stone in 1606. Enjoy horse safari around Ghanerao which falls under the
wild life sanctuary of Kumbhalgarh. Night stay in Ghanerao.
Day 14: Ghanerao - Rohet
After breakfast drive to Rohetgarh, on arrival transfer to hotel, later
take horse safari to Bishnoi tribal villages. Evening free to enjoy at
the Rohetgarh Fort hotel. Night stay in Rohet.
Day 15: Rohet - Luni
After breakfast drive to Luni, on arrival transfer to the Luni fort hotel,
rest of the day free to enjoy horse safari in the surrounding villages
of Bishnoi tribes. Night stay in Luni.
Day 16: Luni - Jodhpur
After breakfast drive to Jodhpur and transfer to hotel. Later sight seeing
of Jodhpur, stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan, was founded in 1459
by Prince Jodha. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone
hill. Within the fort visit Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant
Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph, built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant
singh II around 1899 and Umaid Public gardens. Night stay in Jodhpur.
Day 17: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
Morning, drive to Jaisalmer. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon at
leisure. Overnight at Jaisalmer.
Day 18: Jaisalmer
Morning, city sightseeing throbbing in the heart of the Thar desert. The
burnished sandstone is an intricately molded wonderland in place of a
barren land. Today stands a city of gilded magic. The origins of Jaisalmer
date back to the 12th century, when Rawal Jaisal abandoned his old fort
at Ludarwa and laid the foundation of a new city. Visit the magnificent
fort, the Patwon Ki Haveli (mansion) and Salim Singh Ki Haveli, which
are supreme examples of the art. Evening camel ride to Sam dunes. Overnight
stay at Jaisalmer.
Day 19: Jaisalmer - Manvar
After breakfast drive to Manvaar, on arrival transfer to desert resort
of Manvar, later ride to the campsite which lies under the sand dunes
of Shergarh district (Highest dunes in the desert of Thar are found in
this region). Enjoy dinner accompanied by folk music & dances. Overnight
stay in the Swiss tents at Manvar.
Day 20: Manvaar - Khimsar
After breakfast drive to Khimsar - 90 Kms, on arrival transfer to Khimsar
Fort hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the fort and the surrounding
semi desert of Khimsar. Overnight stay in Khimsar.
Day 21: Khimsar - Nagaur
After breakfast drive to Nagaur - 70 Kms, on arrival transfer to Royal
camps in Nagaur, enjoy desert safari till sunset, dinner accompanied by
folk music and dances. Overnight stay in the tents.
Day 22 : Nagaur - Bikaner
After breakfast drive to Bikaner - 105 kms, enroute visit the famous temple
of rats at Deshnok (Rats are held sacred in this temple of Deshnok). On
arrival transfer to hotel. Later in the day visit Junagarh fort, Lalgarh
palace complex and camel breeding farm. Evening free to relax. Overnight
stay at Bikaner.
Day 23: Bikaner - Alsisar (Mandawa)
Morning drive to Alsisar. Arrive & check in at hotel. Later visit
Alsisar, founded 1755 by Thakur Nawal Singh and still the home of his
descendants, has beautiful frescoes, havelis and mansions. Mandawa castle
one of the finest castles of Rajasthan, is now a hotel and house of collection
of armories, costumes of ancestors, canons from 1820 ancient coins, numismatic
collection and many other interesting items, preserved in a museum. Night
stay in Alsisar.
Day 24: Mandawa - Dundlod
Morning visit havelis & beautiful frescoes, an overview of Thar desert.
Later drive to Dundlod - 30 Kms. On arrival transfer to Dundlod fort Hotel.
Evening enjoy the folk dances. Overnight stay at Dundlod.
Day 25: Dundlod - Nawalgarh
After breakfast drive to Nawalgarh - 25 kms, on arrival transfer to Roop
Niwas palace hotel. Overnight stay at Nawalgarh.
Day 26: Nawalgarh - Delhi - Departure
After breakfast drive to Delhi & transfer to airport to board the
flight for onward journey.
