You start your journey at Indore, the commercial centre of Madhya
Pradesh. This bustling city has rare monuments built by the Holkar dynasty.
We take you to the city of temples, Ujjain, site of the Kumbh mela,
the largest religious congregation in the world.
Omkareshwar, your next stop, is a sacred island at the confluence
of two rivers, shaped like the holiest of all Hindu symbols, Om.
You'll find Maheshwar another, temple town, truly divine. Situated
on the banks of the River Narmada, this ancient city is also mentioned
in the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Finally
get a taste of the fabled Mughal lifestyle in the Mughals' own pleasure
resort, Mandu. Perched at an altitude of 2000 feet, this royal
retreat has many architectural gems. Like Hoshang Shah's tomb which inspired
the builders of Taj Mahal ! Full of lakes, pavilions and palaces, Mandu
was aptly called Shadiabad - the city of joy.
