On this tour, you visit Khajuraho, India's unique gift to the world.
Of the original 85 temples 22 survive today, enthralling visitors from
all over the world. Built in a burst of inspired creativity a thousand
years ago from 950 AD by the Chandela Rajputs, they are a testament to
the craftsman's artistry and to a vision
of life that was full of joy. You also visit Orchha, a medieval city which
has been bypassed by time and remains untouched by modern development.
Here the Bundela Rajputs have left behind a marvellous legacy in stone:
beautiful palaces, temples and chhatris.
5. 04 nights/05 days : Magical Mandu - Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar,
Mandu and Indore.
A journey into the glorious past when classical learning flourished
and passion soared to heights of valour. You visit Ujjain, a truly ancient
city where Krishna is said to have studied. It is a city still renowned
for its traditions of spirituality, learning and culture. Omkareshwar
and Maheshwar are ancient cities renowned for their natural beauty and
sancity. Mandu,the 'city of joy' enclosed by 45 km of walls, is one of
the most beautiful deserted cities in the world. Several rulers have left
behind beautiful palaces and pavilions here while over it all lingers
the legend of the love of Baz Bahadur and Roopmati.
6. 04 nights / 05 days : Khajuraho Dance Festival, Khajuraho -
Orchha.
Every year the beautiful temples of Khajuraho provide the backdrop for
a festival of dances. The country's most gifted dancers perform at this
festival of Indian classical dances. The Khajuraho temples capture life
in every form and mood. Built in the 11th and 12th centuries, 22 of the
original 85 temples still survive.
